Drops on grass

raindrop photo

Raindrops on a grass leaf. I rarely like the results of photos like these because of the depth-of-field issues in extreme macros, but this one came out ok. The grass is from our backyard - we have clumps of dried out old grass-weeds everywhere - and yes it was purple-ish in color to begin with.

To Bee or not to Bee

bee photo

This bee was obsessed with the top of my car, confusing it with a giant flower, perhaps? It wandered around up there long enough for me to take several photos from about 6 inches away. Unfortunately all I had was a 18-55 lens, as I was expecting to take pictures of houses that day, not insects. My husband, who was with me at the time, commented “I bet you wish you’d brought along your macro-lens.” He’s witty like that.

Orb weaver butt

spider photo

This guy had a big web in our backyard for a while. Unfortunately he was turned ‘away’ from me whilst sitting in his web, and I couldn’t get around it to take a frontal shot. So I know it’s a strange photo, but I still like it for some reason.

Raindrop on two flower buds

raindrop-02-mbv.jpg

This was taken while standing almost underneath some small flower-buds which grow from a vine that hangs over our fence. A raindrop covered them both like a glass sheath and pooled below both of them together to form the round drop.

Raindrop on twig

raindrop on twig

It’s winter, which means it’s been raining, which means I’m often in the backyard trying to catch interesting pictures of waterdrops on stuff. A common theme of mine. Water/raindrops are so fascinating.
